Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Bay of Life Social ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website or subscribe to our newsletter. This is a local-media newsletter and we keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the publication.

Information we collect

• Newsletter signups. When you subscribe, we collect your email address. Our newsletter is managed by Beehiiv, our email service provider, which stores your email and subscription status on our behalf.
• Form submissions. When you send us a tip or an advertising inquiry, we collect the information you choose to provide in that form (such as your name, email, the details of your tip, or your business information).
• Analytics. We use PostHog, a product-analytics service, to understand how people use the site (pages viewed, general location, device and browser type) so we can improve it. We do not sell this data.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to send you the newsletter you signed up for, to review and follow up on tips and advertising inquiries, to operate and improve the site, and to keep the publication secure. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We share information with the third-party services that help us operate, including Beehiiv (email delivery), PostHog (analytics), and our hosting and infrastructure providers. These providers process information on our behalf and are subject to their own privacy policies.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. You may contact us to ask what information we hold about you or to request its deletion. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies used for analytics.

Children's privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
